Salad dressing with TURMERIC?!
I will readily admit that I was a skeptic at first. I KNOW turmeric has amazing anti-inflammatory properties. I ALSO know that it has a very strong flavor! So when my massage therapist and nutrition genius (who I SOOOO want to have join my team oh my goodness we would have so much fun) sent me this recipe- I put off trying it.
I don't know about you, but about 50% of the time I enjoy a salad for what it is. Fresh, crunchy vegetables. But there are times when I don't feel like it. Whether I am busy and I don't want to have to sit for 20 minutes chewing raw vegetables or I am just not in the mood or heck- a chef salad with bacon and fresh shredded cheese (not pre-shredded and from a bag! I taste the difference!) with ranch dressing is what I REALLY want! I just DON'T eat that. :-) So to bust out a salad dressing recipe with turmeric and dill weed sounded a little "not yummy" to me!
I finally pulled the email up and got out all the ingredients the other day and guess what? I LOVED IT!!! So much so that I made a double batch last night! So, my friends- I am sharing it with you.
*recipe credit goes to www.healthy-holistic-living.com
1 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp of ground pink himalayan salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp of dried dill weed
2 tsps of honey
3 TBSP of vinegar
1/4 cup EVOO
Pull all ingredients in a blender and blend! Pour and toss over your favorite salad greens.
If you prefer a thicker, creamier dressing then add 1/2 an avocado. Just keep in mind that if you add avocado it should be completely consumed as it will get yucky if it sits.
So try it out! Who doesn't have aches and pains they could help along with some holistic anti-inflammatory measures? Don't delay like I did, though. I promise- it is DELISH!
Cheers to a soy-free dressing that is good for you!
