I'm not perfect - PERFECT is boring!
My name is Tracy Adams and I am so happy you are here! Perhaps we don’t know each other well, so let me tell you a little bit about me. I am a 44 year-old former Speech-Language Pathologist turned Executive Pharmaceutical Representative. I broke free of those corporate handcuffs in May of 2016 to pursue my TRUE PASSION and create my family’s life-by-design. I established Daily Dose of Tracy and am an online health and fitness coach and network leader within Beachbody. My mission is two-fold:
Every day I endeavor to inspire and to teach others how to fuel their bodies for a lifetime by way of a HEALTHY, YUMMY, FUN, FEEL YOUR BEST lifestyle (the Freedom and Hope Plan) and to get in shape! I truly believe food is the most powerful medicine there is and that any type of fitness is an incredibly powerful way to manage the mind! (click here if you'd like to learn more)
I want people to live an inspired life, a life by design. A life that makes you jump out of bed in the morning because you have passion and purpose that you 110% believe in! My mission is to help people realize that we have to let go of the idea of being perfect in order to be authentic to who we truly are. That is when amazing things start to happen! I believe I am at the beginning of a “grassroots” effort to help end obesity, self-doubt and negative self-talk. I am privileged to lead and mentor a team of like-minded individuals who are fueling their futures by way of inspiring others to live their healthiest, happiest lives, as well. It all comes back to paying it forward! (click here if you'd like to learn more about Team Daily Dose of Fuel A.K.A. Team DDF)
I really appreciate a true personal connection with others, so let me tell you a bit about me and my busy, hectic, not-so-perfect nonetheless BLESSED life. My husband Tom and I live in Winter Garden, FL where we are raising our two amazing kiddos. Our son Brooks is 13 and loves football, football, mechanical things, and football. He is our “do-er”. Delaney is 11 and she loves hamsters, art, fantasy, and reading. She is our “dreamer”.
I grew up in Gainesville, FL from age 4 through undergraduate school at the University of Florida. GO GATORS! In 1996 I came to Orlando to get my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from UCF. I started out in the “working world” as a Speech-Language Pathologist on a Brain Injury Unit where I learned more than I could have ever dreamed of learning in just over 5 years. It was like drinking from a fire hydrant! I then transitioned over to the pharmaceutical world where I specialized in several therapeutic areas such as the gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and neuroscience/psychiatric divisions. I was extremely successful and left that career on a high note as an Executive Pharmaceutical Rep with a proven track record of SUCCESS! Couple that with my husband and two active kids, a church in which we are active, more family dispersed throughout Central and North Florida as well as Pennsylvania, lots of amazing friends, a little bit of anxiety and much more and you have a gal who can 100% relate to what busy and stressed means and feels like!
The things that are most important to me in life are my relationship with God, my marriage, being an amazing Mom, and serving others. I am a giver. I am an incredibly good listener, a critical thinker, a “fixer” (learning to set boundaries for myself on that one!) and am a “get IT done” kind of girl. Those who know me well would probably tell you that I am loyal, giving, kind-hearted, always honest, annoying at times (WHO ISN’T?!), intelligent, competent, and confident. My nickname #cracytracy is well-earned. WHY? Because I am out-going, fun, I like to push the envelope a bit, I am pretty fearless and I say what I think! When I have free time I enjoy leisure reading, learning more and more about nutrition, working on my garden tower, spending QUALITY time with my kids and hubby and being ACTIVE! As long as my back can handle it I am up for the adventure!
When I was a kid my parents would offer me a quarter if I could go 5 minutes without doing a cartwheel. I never got that darn quarter! In my younger years, I did gymnastics and played soccer and then went on to play volleyball and softball in high school. I took up running sometime in college, played every intramural sport for my college sorority (American football was hands-down my favorite!) and went on to run marathons and triathlons well into my early 40’s! A degenerative L5-S1 disc has forced me to hang up my running shoes, but I still get my daily endorphin rush and continue to love being FIT and STRONG! It has and always will be an important part of my life.
Interestingly enough, maintaining an ideal weight has not always come as ‘naturally’ for me as the fitness part. I use the term ‘naturally’ loosely because hey- like so many others I struggle with motivation at times! Especially at 6:00 a.m. when the alarm wakes me out of a dead sleep! Through my high school years I was blessed with a metabolism. I was a freckle-faced, no-boobs, skinny and tall adolescent gal who ate her share of 20-count chicken McNuggets in one sitting! Then my freshman year in college I gained not the freshman 15, but the freshman 30. The next year I lost it. Then I gained it back the following year. Then I lost all of the weight again. Then I gained again. Lather-Rinse-Repeat! I’ve done Atkins, Weight Watchers, The Zone Diet, Body for Life, and more only to come to the conclusion through my own personal experience that it is exhausting!!! I can finally say, at age 44 years old, that I have finally found balance in a lifestyle that is easy to follow, allows me to have fun and color outside the lines at times, affords me the opportunity to enjoy easy and delicious (seriously- DEELISH) foods and it doesn’t break the bank! I dubbed this lifestyle the Freedom and Hope Nutritional plan and I have witnessed it change MANY people's’ lives since I designed it.
In 2014 I founded Team Daily Dose of Fuel- or Team DDF for short- and our team mission is to inspire and teach people how to fuel their bodies, fuel their souls and fuel their futures! It is one of the best decisions of my life!!! I absolutely love helping people find their way to the best versions of themselves in all aspects of their lives!
Every day I wake-up with the goal of bringing value, perspective, knowledge, inspiration, and humility to my friends, family and followers. I am not perfect- PERFECT IS BORING! I don’t have ALL of the answers, but I have a lot of them! However, I think the most important thing is that I am 100% committed to helping others succeed because I TRULY CARE. So, you'll find inspiration, motivation, humor, leadership, valuable information, compassion and some #truthbombs here!
